It tells the story of Mary Lennox, a girl born in India, who was raised by a Hindu nanny. Mary is a selfish and rude girl who after the death of her parents moves to England to live with her uncle. At her uncle’s home Mary feels abandoned and alone, but this changes when a colourful bird shows her the entrance to a secret garden, which becomes her second home. The secret garden is a forgotten for 10 years and closed part of the park surrounding the house of Mary’s uncle. Strangely enough, despite abandonment and lack of care, the garden continues to grow roses and other rare and sensitive flowers.
